Walter + Cecil Peaks

Walter Peak and Cecil Peak, rising straight out of Lake Wakatipu across the water from Queenstown. Surveyor James McKerrow named both in 1862 after the same person, Cecil Walter Rees, eldest son of Queenstown's founder William Rees. Cecil Peak is the higher, at 1,978 m. The TSS Earnslaw runs across to Walter Peak.
